The term “trim” refers literally to the result of trimming the buds, that is, removing the surrounding leaves to improve their look and visual quality. Although it lacks the density and presentation of whole flowers, this material is far from worthless: the sugar leaves around the calyxes are covered in glandular trichomes rich in cannabinoids and terpenes, and they hold a significant CBD content, lower than whole flowers but still noteworthy. The mixed trim collected from our indoor production comes from several varieties in the catalogue, including Gorilla Glue, White Widow, OG Kush, Zkittlez and other strains of the season, giving a complex, varied aroma profile that reflects the genetic diversity of the source plants. An authentic, genuine, zero-waste product that offers an entry point to high-quality CBD at an accessible price.

WHAT IS TRIM

Trimming is one of the most important and labour-intensive stages of post-harvest processing for indoor CBD cannabis: after drying, each flower is finished by hand by skilled operators who use precise scissors to remove the sugar leaves surrounding the calyxes. This can be done as a “wet trim” (on freshly harvested plants) or a “dry trim” (on dried plants), and it directly affects the final look and aroma profile of the buds. The leaves removed during trimming are covered in trichomes, especially near the calyxes, and contain significant concentrations of CBD, CBG and terpenes. Trim from high-quality indoor crops like ours is therefore very different from trim from lower-quality crops: the care given to the plants, the absence of pesticides and the quality of the cultivars grown are directly reflected in the terpene and cannabinoid richness of the by-product. Our Mixed Trim is harvested, dried and stored with the same care as our whole flowers.

COMPOSITION AND VARIETIES

CBD Trim is by definition a product whose composition varies, because it collects the trimming material from the entire indoor growing season. The current batch consists mainly of sugar leaves from the main varieties in the catalogue, including Gorilla Glue, White Widow, OG Kush, Zkittlez, Amnesia and California Haze, plus small leftover calyxes and flower fragments that are too small to be sold as small buds. The share of each variety changes from batch to batch depending on the quantities produced during the season, so each batch of trim is partly unique in its overall aroma profile. This variability is one of the most appealing traits of trim: the aroma that results from combining several genetics is often more complex and layered than that of a single strain, with notes that overlap and complement each other in unpredictable and interesting ways.

AROMA

The aroma profile of CBD Trim is by nature heterogeneous and layered, the result of several genetics each bringing its own signature. There is no single, constant aroma as in single-strain products, but rather a complex, ever-changing bouquet that reflects the diversity of the starting material. Depending on the composition of the batch, earthy and resinous notes inherited from Gorilla Glue and White Widow may dominate, or the citrusy and spicy nuances of OG Kush and California Haze, or the sweeter, fruitier notes of Zkittlez. In general, Mixed Trim has a more pronounced herbal, leafy profile than whole flowers, because of the greater share of leaf material, but with a rich, recognisable terpene base that reveals its high-quality origin. The aroma is less intense than in whole buds but still noticeable and pleasant, with a fresh, herbal note reminiscent of a hemp field in bloom.

USES AND APPLICATIONS

CBD Trim lends itself to many uses, which makes it a versatile and valuable product for anyone who works with CBD cannabis. It is the ideal starting point for the craft production of extracts: its trichome content makes it suitable for preparing hash by dry sift or ice water extraction, or for making oil- or alcohol-based tinctures and infusions. For those who make hash at home, quality trim is often preferable to whole flowers because it offers a similar trichome yield at a significantly lower cost. Trim can also be used as it is, loose, and is appreciated by those who want an economical option without giving up certified indoor origin. Whatever the intended use, our Mixed Trim offers the same traceability, purity and absence of pesticides as the whole flowers in the catalogue, with one of the most competitive value-for-money ratios in the range.

PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

CBD Trim: sugar leaves and leftover calyxes

Type

Mix of several indoor strains from the season

Composition

Gorilla Glue, White Widow, OG Kush, Zkittlez, Amnesia, Cal.
