Frequently asked questions
General information about CBD Bob products: legality, CBD, THC and responsible use.
What is Cannabis Light?
By Cannabis Light we mean hemp flowers (naturally pest-repellent thanks to their terpenes and pungent smell, which keeps parasites away). “Light” indicates a low THC content, below 0.6%, and a good richness of CBD, unlike medical cannabis, which is distributed by pharmacies and grown exclusively by the Italian State and can have a much higher THC content than 0.6%. In the therapeutic field, both THC and CBD are used in the treatment of various conditions. Hemp is a plant with many uses: research is well advanced in construction (for making bricks), as a natural pesticide, for bioplastics and as a low-impact plant-based biofuel.
Is it a legal product?
As industrial hemp varieties already included in the official list of seeds that may be grown in Italy, and therefore with a THC content below the legal limit, all our flowers comply with the Italian narcotics law (DPR 309/90). All products in the catalogue are certified and comply with Law no. 242/16.
What is CBD?
CBD is the acronym for “CANNABIDIOL”. It is one of the 85 active compounds, called cannabinoids, found in both hemp and cannabis. It can often be found in large quantities in cannabis, and is second only to THC but, unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive, so it brings neither a “high” nor feelings of disorientation or loss of balance.
Is CBD different from THC?
Yes: THC has a psychoactive/psychotropic effect capable of altering mental activity, whereas CBD has the opposite effect, as it enhances the analgesic effect and does not alter mental activity. For more information on the subject: it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabidiolo.
What are cannabinoids?
Industrial hemp, more commonly called light, contains cannabinoids, naturally occurring chemical compounds, active ingredients that offer various benefits. The best known are THC (present within the legal limits, below 0.2%), CBD and CBG.
THC (<0.2%) – Tetrahydrocannabinol: the best-known active ingredient of Cannabis sativa, with multiple properties for therapeutic purposes such as pain relief, anti-nausea, euphoric, antiemetic, anti-motion-sickness, appetite-stimulating, lowers intraocular pressure and can also reduce aggressiveness.
CBD – Cannabidiol: a non-psychoactive metabolite of Cannabis sativa, but with relaxing, anticonvulsant, antidystonic, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects; it promotes sleep and is soothing against anxiety and panic.
CBN – Cannabinol: very similar to THC but, by comparison, with weak psychoactive properties.
Do traces remain in blood, urine or hair?
All products containing CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) test positive. The difference is that CBD is not a psychoactive substance, unlike THC, which is prohibited by law at concentrations above 0.4%. Tests are calibrated to detect THC levels above the permitted limits, so it should not show up in tests. CBD Bob accepts no responsibility for personal use of the product and does not recommend any specific use.
Can I drive after using Cannabis Light?
It has no psychotropic effect and the THC level is not significant, being below 0.2%, in compliance with Italian law.
Can it be sold to minors?
Although no law prohibits sales to minors, it is our choice not to make the product available to them.
