Gorilla Glue
Description
THE GENETICS
Gorilla Glue — also known as GG4 — is one of the most awarded and talked-about hybrid varieties of recent years. Born in the United States from an accidental cross between Chem's Sister, Sour Dubb and Chocolate Diesel, it owes its name to the extraordinary quantity of resin it produces, making growers' tools sticky during harvesting, just like glue. In its CBD version, this strain preserves the original terpene profile, offering an intense, complex aromatic experience with a THC content within legal limits. Since its first appearance, Gorilla Glue has won numerous awards at the leading American Cannabis Cups, establishing itself as a benchmark for enthusiasts of resinous strains.
THE APPEARANCE
Gorilla Glue CBD flowers stand out for their exceptional resin production, visible to the naked eye as a dense, crystalline coating covering every flower. The buds are compact and medium-sized, with the dense structure typical of hybrids with high cannabinoid content. Their colour ranges from moss green to olive green, enriched by copper-orange pistils emerging between the trichomes. The buds' surface appears almost silver due to the abundant resin coating, giving the product a visually impressive, high-quality appearance. The flowers are selected and trimmed by hand to preserve their integrity.
AROMA
Gorilla Glue's aromatic profile is among the most complex and intense available on the CBD market. The dominant notes are earthy and chemical, with pronounced hints of pine, resinous wood and diesel that immediately characterise the strain. Sweet nuances of dark chocolate and coffee emerge in the background, a direct inheritance from Chocolate Diesel among its ancestors. The combination creates a rich, layered aromatic bouquet with a long, enveloping olfactory persistence. Those seeking an intense, masculine and bold aroma will find an expression in Gorilla Glue that is hard to forget.
ORIGIN AND CULTIVATION
This strain is grown in a fully controlled indoor environment, where every parameter — temperature, humidity, light intensity and ventilation — is monitored and adjusted to maximise trichome and cannabinoid production. Cultivation follows the principles of organic farming, without pesticides or synthetic chemical fertilisers. Gorilla Glue requires careful management during flowering to contain the strain's characteristic vigorous growth. The plants are pruned and trained to optimise production and ensure batch uniformity. The flowers are harvested at peak maturity, slowly dried and selected by hand before packaging.
THE ORIGINS
Gorilla Glue originated in the United States entirely by chance: breeder Joesy Whales was working on other strains when some Chem's Sister plants accidentally pollinated by Sour Dubb produced seeds which, once germinated and crossed with Chocolate Diesel, gave rise to what would become one of the most iconic strains of the 2010s. The name GG4 was assigned to the project's fourth selection, the one that best represented the desired characteristics. After dominating the American Cannabis Cups between 2014 and 2016, the variety reached Europe, where CBD growers quickly adopted its genetics to produce legal flowers of the highest quality.
