Tropical Gelato
Description
THE GENETICS
Tropical Gelato is a new-generation hybrid variety born from the meeting of two distinct, complementary aromatic worlds: the sweet, enveloping creaminess of Gelato — one of the best-loved and most awarded Californian strains of recent years — and the fruity, exotic liveliness of a tropical selection based on sativa genetics from South Asia and Central America. The result is a balanced hybrid that combines the dense, resinous structure typical of the Gelato family with a surprisingly fresh, fruity and exotic terpene profile, able to evoke tropical atmospheres every time the jar is opened. Tropical Gelato stands out among CBD varieties for its aromatic originality and its ability to offer an olfactory experience that goes beyond the classic earthy or citrusy profiles, opening the door to a universe of sweet, exotic and unforgettable sensations. In the CBD version it keeps a THC content within the legal limits, with a high concentration of cannabidiol.
THE APPEARANCE
The flowers of Tropical Gelato CBD show a compact, generously resinous structure, typical of the Gelato heritage that defines the strain. The buds are medium-sized, dense and well formed, with a coverage of crystalline trichomes so abundant that it gives the buds an almost frosted, luminous look. The colour is a bright, warm green, with shades turning towards yellow-green in the most resin-rich areas, enriched by golden-orange pistils generously distributed among the leaves. In some specimens, delicate peach and apricot shades can be seen on the outermost leaves, a colour feature that visually recalls the tropical fruits the strain draws its inspiration from. The tops are selected and hand-trimmed to guarantee consistent batches of the highest aesthetic and qualitative standard.
AROMA
The aromatic profile of Tropical Gelato is a sensory journey that takes you straight under a tropical palm tree: the dominant notes are ripe mango, juicy pineapple and exotic papaya, blending harmoniously with the buttery, vanilla-like creaminess typical of Gelato. The result is a rich, layered and surprisingly complex olfactory bouquet that combines the fruity sweetness of the tropics with the softness of artisanal ice cream. In the background emerge notes of coconut, tropical flowers and a slight herbal freshness that balances the sweet component and keeps the profile from becoming cloying. The aromatic persistence is long and enveloping, with a sweet, fruity aftertaste that slowly turns into a creamy, delicate note. Among the aromatic profiles available in the CBD world, Tropical Gelato is one of the most original, indulgent and hard-to-forget experiences.
ORIGIN AND CULTIVATION
This genetic is grown in a fully controlled indoor environment, where temperature, humidity, ventilation and light cycles are precisely regulated to bring out the strain's extraordinary production of tropical terpenes. Tropical Gelato requires careful feeding management during flowering: a balanced supply of micronutrients and a slight reduction in humidity in the final stages promote the optimal development of trichomes and the concentration of the terpenes responsible for the exotic aroma. Cultivation takes place without pesticides or chemical fertilisers, in full respect of the highest organic standards, guaranteeing a pure product free of chemical residues. The flowers are harvested at peak trichome maturity, dried slowly in temperature- and humidity-controlled rooms, and hand-selected one by one before final packaging.
THE ORIGINS
Tropical Gelato has its roots in the tradition of the Californian breeders who, from the mid-2010s, transformed the premium variety scene by introducing strains with ever more complex and refined aromatic profiles. Gelato, created by Mario Guzman — known as "Sherbinski" — in San Francisco by crossing Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, forms the genetic base of the strain, bringing its compact structure, generous resin production and the aromatic creaminess that made it famous worldwide. The addition of a tropical sativa component made it possible to create a unique phenotype that goes beyond the boundaries of the classic Gelato profile, introducing an entirely original exotic, fruity dimension. From the Californian underground, Tropical Gelato reached Europe, where CBD growers welcomed it with enthusiasm, appreciating its ability to produce flowers with a strong, distinctive aromatic identity that is immediately recognisable in an increasingly crowded market.
